On March 15th, Professor Serena Forlati (University of Ferrara) was welcomed as an invited professor at the Rio School on Global Governance, Democracy and Human Rights, an activity organised by the FGV Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on EU-South America Global Governance, co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme.


Professor Serena Forlati gave the Opening Lecture on the topic "International cooperation in the fight against transnational organised crime and international human rights law: an European perspective" and provided a comprehensive explanation of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and its intersections between the various facets of regional and international human rights law.


Professor Serena was also part of the Workshop “Transforming the Role of International Courts and Tribunals in a New Era of Adjudication” in which she will address the topic "Erga omnes obligations and compliance in community interest cases before the International Court of Justice."
