On Sunday June 5th, 2022, Professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida, director of the FGV Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on EU-South America Global Governance, attended the event "In Memoriam Antônio Trindade: International Lawyer", organised by the Jindal Society of International Law, from India.

Antônio Augusto Cançado Trindade was the author of a vast and influential academic production, was President of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights from 1999 to 2004 and Judge at the International Court of Justice from 2009 to 2022.

At the meeting, professors, researchers and jurists from Latin America addressed the role and performance of Cançado Trindade on the international scene, in addition to his influence on the career of academics. For more information, see:
