On Monday, May 29th, Professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida had the privilege of participating in an event on Twitter Space, paying tribute to the renowned Judge Antônio Augusto Cançado Trindade. As a former judge of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the International Court of Justice, he is undeniably one of the most influential Latin American jurists, known for his invaluable contributions to Human Rights and Public International Law.


The event was led and moderated by Professor Salvador Herencia Carrasco, from the University of Ottawa. Professor Almeida joined distinguished panellists Catalina Fernández Carter, Ximena Medellín Urquiaga and Daniel Cerqueira to discuss Judge Cançado Trindade's remarkable legacy and his profound impact on the development and advancement of international jurisprudence.


The event was an opportunity to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Judge Cançado Trindade for his tireless commitment to upholding human rights and promoting justice worldwide.
