65º Forum Nacional CONFAP, held at the CBPF in Rio de Janeiro
On 26 September, the Centre for Global Law participated in the 65o Forum Nacional CONFAP, held at the CBPF in Rio de Janeiro.
Professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida presented the projects conducted by the Centre for Global Law, notably the GEM-DIAMOND project, which delivers double doctoral degrees on Globalisation, Europe, and Multilateralism (GEM) since 2022.
GEM-DIAMOND is a Marie Skłodowska Curie Action - Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN) involving 6 European - i.e. ULB, UvA, LUISS, UCPH, UBB, Paris1 - and 5 international – i.e. UoW, UNIGE, UL, WUT, FGV - degree-awarding Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) alongside 6 well-established non-academic institutions – i.e. CEPS, IAI, GMF, PATRIR, FIDH, EGMONT.
The project hires and trains 16 doctoral fellows to help address knowledge gaps associated with the growing dissensus undermining both multilateral and democratic practice.
FGV, together with the ULB (coordinator of the project) and LUISS will deliver a triple PhD degree diploma to our fellow Benedetta Arrighini.
The event, promoted by Confap, put together a variety of colleagues from research foundations in Brazil and abroad with the aim of promoting network and cross-fertilization. Participants include: Odir Dellagostin (Confap), Elisa Natola (Confap), Vânia Paschoalin (Faperj), Ana Beatriz Ramadas da Cruz (Faperj), Charlotte Grawitz (Euraxes), Ida Joana Meissner (DAAD), Julie Dumont (WBI), Fernanda Hamilton (Reino Unido), Claude Pirmez (Fiocruz), Luíza Lena Gottin (Global Health Strategies), além de Kassia Hare, Pedro Capra, Vaneasa Boanada Alexandre Cabral, dentre outros.
FGV representatives included Vitor Furtado de Melo, researcher at the Centre for Global Law.
