CPDG Dialogues with Mr Gherson Baskin

On 24 September, the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence(CEJM), co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme, in partnership with the Centre for Global Law (CPDG) and the Brazil-Israel Institute, hosted Mr Gherson Baskin for a special edition of the CPDG Dialogues.

Gershon Baskin is one of the most recognizable names in the Middle East Peace process. He has served as an advisor to several international and Israeli prime ministers and remains a recognized negotiator with Palestinian leaders. He holds a PhD in International Affairs from the University of Greenwich. He is director and founder of the Israel/Palestine Center for Research and Information (IPCRI), a think tank and policy institute based in Jerusalem. Currently, he is the Middle East Director for the International Communities Organization (ICO) and the director of Holy Land Bond, an investment fund focused on reconciliation in Israel and Palestine.

The talk addressed Gherson Baskin's experience as a negotiator in conflicts between Israel and Palestine and alternative forms of conflict resolution.

We would like to thank Brazil-Israel Institute, in the person of Carolline Cardoso de Mello, for making it possible for us to learn from Baskin and to engage in discussions at the interface between academia and policy-making.
