On 1 August 2025, the Centre for Global Law (CPDG) at FGV Rio Law and the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on EU–Latin America Global Challenges (CEJM), co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme, hosted a CPDG Research Seminar entitled “El Ius Constitutionale Commune en América Latina a la Luz de la Interamericanización”.

The seminar featured presentations by Dr. Mariela Morales Antoniazzi, Senior Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law and Academic Coordinator of the Ius Constitutionale Commune en América Latina (ICCAL) project, and Carolina Bejarano Martínez, Senior Researcher at the same institute.

The discussion explored the development of the ICCAL framework in light of processes of inter-Americanization, addressing the role of regional human rights systems and constitutional integration in Latin America. The seminar was conducted in Spanish and fostered an interdisciplinary exchange on comparative constitutionalism, regional legal orders, and the evolving architecture of human rights protection in the Americas.

The session was moderated by Professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida, Director of CPDG and CEJM, and took place in person at FGV Direito Rio headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.
