From March 31 to April 4, 2025, Professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida, Director of the FGV Centre for Global Law (CPDG) and the FGV Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on EU–South America Global Governance, co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme, taught the course Universalism, Regionalism, and Integration as part of the International Studies Program (ISP) at the Faculty of Law of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Porto Regional Centre.

Coordinated by Professor José Alberto Azeredo Lopes, the International Studies Program is a three-semester postgraduate programme taught entirely in English, bringing together students and scholars to discuss contemporary issues in international law, regional integration, and global governance.

Throughout the course, Professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida explored the interaction between universal and regional legal orders, examining the role of international organizations, regional integration processes, and contemporary challenges facing international law. The programme provided participants with a comparative perspective on the development of international legal systems and the evolving relationship between global and regional governance.

The teaching activity also reinforced the longstanding academic partnership between FGV Direito Rio and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, which has fostered joint research projects, academic events, and student mobility initiatives, particularly at the doctoral level.
