About the event

The Centre for Global Law (CPDG) at FGV Rio Law and the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (CEJM), co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme, are pleased to host Professor Malcolm Jorgensen, Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, for a session of the CPDG Research Seminar on the topic: "From International Legal Order to 'Geolegal Orders': The Politics of 'Multipolarity' in International Law."

 

Dr. Malcolm Jorgensen is a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Heidelberg and Associated Researcher at the Chair of Public Law and Public International Law, Humboldt University of Berlin. He holds a PhD in International Law and American Foreign Policy from the University of Sydney, which has been published as 'American Foreign Policy Ideology and The International Rule of Law' (Cambridge University Press, 2020; Foreword by Prof. Anthea Roberts). Jointly with Prof. Christian Marxsen (Humboldt University of Berlin), he is the recipient of a two year VolkswagenStiftung grant for a research project on 'Comparative International Legal Policy', which investigates states' foreign policy approaches towards the international legal order.
